A Unique Journey of Finding Freedom

My path to becoming a yoga teacher began in a small town in India before life's currents carried me to California. Initially pursuing a master's degree and a corporate career to move away from family, I found success yet felt a profound disconnect sitting before computers and in meeting rooms. Something essential was missing—a direct connection to people and their transformation.Throughout this time, yoga remained my anchor—the practice that felt like home and connected me to my true self.

A YouTube video inspired me to take care of my body, mind and soul. Practicing in the physical space solidified my love for the practice. When I decided to quit my job to pursue a career in service of others, yoga embraced and pushed me into a brand new world, where people, experiences, lessons were gentler. I was met with kindness, compassion and empathy in this world. I felt like this was a parallel world, a Utopia.

The yoga teacher training revealed something I had always intuitively known: the yogic path paralleled my natural inclinations. As someone who cherished deep connections, supported others, and questioned conventional wisdom, I recognized yoga not just as a practice but as a way of being that I had been searching for.

The call to return to India grew stronger—to reintroduce the profound wisdom of yogic lifestyle in a modern context to those walking similar paths of discovery. Before teaching, I pursued additional certifications in anatomy, sequencing, philosophy, and spiritual practices to honor the depth and integrity of this ancient tradition.

When I returned, Mama India held me in her embrace. My experience in this land was a stark difference from when I had left years before. This time it was filled with divine experiences—I saw and felt India in a completely different way. Everywhere I ended up felt like divine intervention. I traveled, met amazing humans on similar journeys, and love started pouring in from every direction. I was welcomed to so many spiritual lands and felt a communion with the divine itself.

Yet beneath it all, I was feeling like there was still something missing. I carried an unquenchable thirst, seeking something I couldn't quite name—a pursuit that had been with me since birth. Finally, I understood what I had been searching for all along: Freedom. Root to Rise was already alive inside me—a pledge to share my journey with other women, to dedicate my life's efforts and resources to guide them toward their own liberation and self-reliance.

For over four years now, I've been guiding students through classes that blend strong vinyasa flows with functional movements, always tailored to meet practitioners where they are. Each session integrates meditation, philosophy, and pranayama—creating a holistic experience that nurtures body, mind, and spirit.

What brings me the greatest joy is witnessing new students discover yoga's foundations—seeing that moment when a pose becomes not just a physical shape but an expression of self-understanding. I approach each class as an act of self-love, a practice I hope to cultivate in everyone who joins me on the mat.

Root to Rise emerged from this journey—a methodology that helps women reconnect with their inner wisdom and build self-reliance through yogic principles. I believe that when we ground ourselves in our authentic nature and nurture our connection to universal energy, we discover strengths we never knew we possessed.

I continue my own practice as a forever student of yoga, understanding that this path of knowledge is endless. Through this website and platform, I seek to make these transformative practices accessible to all, supporting your journey toward self-discovery from wherever you call home.

My goal

My absolute favorite thing about teaching yoga is seeing my students making a connection with themselves, reducing their stress, regulating their breath, and falling in love with self-care and self-love.

My goal is to reintroduce yoga as a lifestyle to everyone around me, creating awareness about simple holistic practices that are more impactful and get results.

If you are interested in being on this journey with me, don’t hesitate to reach out. I am always excited to meet yoga and life enthusiasts and share a conversation over a cup of coffee.
